Its a narrow gauge line running between Pathankot and Jogindernagar via Kangra. One can reach Pathankot and catch the narrow gauge train to reach Ahju. Alternatively, one can take a taxi from Pathankot railway station. The distance between Pathankot Railway Station and Bir is about 145 kilometers which can be covered in 4-5 hours.

By Air: The nearest airport is at Gaggal and is 68 kilometers from Bir. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach. There are flights connecting Delhi, Chandigarh and Shimla.
